Tech 911: iPad or Surface and Why?

iPad or Surface and why? I use Microsoft office, especially Excel with macros.

Glad to help with this.  From an mobile integration standpoint and having apps available to for your mobile device, an iPad would be the way to go.  Currently there is over 1 million apps on the iOS App Store with less than 200,000 on the Windows mobile platform.  With that being said, if you are a heavy Windows 8 user and will be relying on your tablet to do Word, Excel and PowerPoint exclusively, then the Surface would be your better choice.  Windows mobile works very similar to the Windows 8 desktop platform and Microsoft Office Suite also works well on the Surface.
My only fear going to Windows is that they have been behind from a development standpoint.  Their CEO resigned, when they released the original Surface they touted it as a game changer and their sales have been abysmal.  They are getting ready to launch the Surface 2 in late October which again they are touting as a game changer.  I just don’t see it.
I have been speaking all over the country to Superintendents and consulting with businesses on mobile integration.  Then overwhelming majority are using an iOS device, whether an iPhone, iPad mini or regular iPad.  The others are Android users.  A very small percentage are Windows users.
