Bill Brown – Founder
In early 2009 I founded iTurf Apps. The genesis of iTurf Apps came from my passion for technology and loyal following of Apple Inc as well as my career as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent. iTurf Apps has allowed me to marry two things I am very passionate about to assist turfgrass managers with the integration of technology into their professional and personal lives. My goal is to teach turf professionals, that with today’s technology, you can do more with less; allow them to be better environmental stewards, business professionals and leaders in the ever-expanding turfgrass industry.
My use of technology reached a milestone in 2009, as I became Nationally recognized for my use of technology in the golf industry. I continue to be involved at a National level, giving speeches across the country with the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) and assisting with the annual Golf Industry Show’s Test Drive Technology Center. My use of technology as a Certified Golf Course Superintendent has also been covered in national media.
Over the years, iTurf Apps has expanded providing presentations and consultation on social media and the integration of technology all over the country and in Canada to turf professionals and businesses. As a husband and father of two very active boys, today’s technology has given me the opportunity to document in a whole new way, our families adventures, birthdays, holidays or maybe just a day in the backyard. I strive to have iTurf Apps provide assistance on a personal side, to demonstrate to our followers the potential even the small mobile phone in their pocket has in creating wonderful family photos and/or movies. It is amazing to hear my son ask me to download load movies or tweet or use facebook. He even pretends to blog with me at times. iTurf Apps can help do all the above.
